The backpack is definitely included, even if not more than promised!
I never had a backpack growing up and now I can't carry a heavy bag due to two shoulder injuries. I am absolutely satisfied with the way this bag is relieving my torn tendons and I can even wear it in my sling because there are 3 different straps to choose from. The capacity and ability to organize all the junk in my wallet is great!
