I suggest laying out the newspaper because the mica powder can be a little messy if you're not careful. This kit really has everything you need to get started. Whether you are a beginner or a pro with resin, it was really a lot of fun. I bought some basic silicone molds and used the measuring and blending tools that came with them. The instructions and ideas booklet that came with this set was very helpful as it gave us an idea of what we wanted to do. It also includes what you can and can't do with resin. For everything I got and paid for, definitely great value for money.
