Review on ⚡️ Ultimate Protection: Ubiquiti ETH-SP-G2 Surge Suppressor/Protector by Nate Nelson

Difficult installation due to poor design

I really like Ubiquiti radios. Their software and performance are generally excellent. But these surge arresters have no mounting hardware and are difficult to install. First, the units require two screws to install in the standard "push down and slide down" manner, but the holes for this are too small for a six-bolt at my hardware store. So you'll have to drill them out to use an appropriately sized screw. The company could pack two screws in: It's basically a plastic box with two RJ-45 connectors and some ESP magic in between: $14 for a pair of screws doesn't seem like much. Then the ground wire hole is too small for wire number six, which is the smallest recommended size for this task. So more drilling to fix what should have been done at the factory. Not sure yet if they actually offer surge protection as I haven't had a storm, but they do connect after spending too much time installing them.
