At the beginning of August I injured my right big toe while hiking. Significant solar hematoma of the nail developed. It has recently become apparent that my nail is going to come off. I wanted to make sure it was secure and would detach on its own and not be traumatic as it is only attached on one side. It is comfortable and above all breathable because there are side vents. I occasionally take it off to let my whole toe breathe, but I always put it on at night. It also helps stabilize the nail so it stays in place and doesn't puncture or hurt. Highly recommended
