Solid replacement ink vs buying new from store

A few months ago I had to replace all the ink cartridges for my printer and as many of you know it can cost a small fortune when it comes to inkjet printers. I looked for cheaper alternatives and first found another manufacturer that made remanufactured cartridges. While the pack of 10 cartridges I received (2 of each color and 4 black) performs well in color, 2 of the 4 black cartridges produced almost no ink. So I decided to try another manufacturer and that was this set from Valuetoner. Unlike graphics cards and processors, there isn't a program I can run to "test" cartridges, so I basically just used them for various tasks to see how they worked. First things first: my printer recognized cartridges and ink levels without any problems. If it was a problem, it immediately stopped what I was trying to do. Second, I printed several documents from Word, a printer test page, and Adobe Reader for PDF at various settings from fast (lowest resolution) to high quality (prints slowly but has much higher resolution). I was immediately pleasantly surprised that the black looked good as this was my biggest problem with another company. I replaced both black cartridges to make sure they both work and have no issues. Then I took different photos. I didn't use photo quality paper so I knew it would affect the result, but various full frame captures, jpegs and color handouts worked fine. The saturation was on point, I had no color errors and even on my cheap paper the photos came out just as good as if I'd gone to the store and bought new Epson cartridges. If you are looking for a way to save a lot of money and not be afraid when the ink level reaches the point where it says 'replace', check out this company. I didn't have any problems, but they did include support information to contact if I had any issues, which was a welcome surprise. I recommend trying them out as they cover more than Epson and as you can see from the pictures they have their tech support number right on the cartridge if you really run into problems. Will definitely be ordering more once I've verified the ink I actually received and am glad I found a good alternative rather than going to the store and buying a new one if all that I really need a refill of ink.
