I have lots of these from Woods and other brands (Bayco etc) both with and without stands. I've had a Bayco for years and they still hold up great, but I like the grip on the Woods for easier winding. It moves well on its own, but I also squirt everything with silicone lube when I can (small suggestion). BEST OF ALL, I wanted to show here that they work very well for 10AWG extension cords (both 3 and 4 wire). and generator cable. The photos show 3 coils (without stand). On the right is 25 feet of yellow FLAT 10/4 AWG 30 AMP alternator wire - perfect fit. Shown in the middle photo is a red 10/3 extension from 50 feet with a triple tap. Also fits PERFECT. Links 50 foot standard (i.e. ROUND) 10/4 AWG 30 AMP generator extension. Doesn't fit all the way into the spool but close enough that the spool makes winding the line much easier and just wrap it with velcro straps. So a 50ft 10/4 cable is still worthwhile for me. Also, their spools appear to be strong enough to handle the heavier twists required to wind cords. Good product. Very happy with them. I plan to buy a few more for my backup generator and Christmas lights as soon as I get the chance!
