Review on JSP Manufacturing Plastic Replacement Compatible by Emanuel Guffey

My trusty Igloo Marine 36 finally broke the handle. This cooler has taken me on literally hundreds of fishing trips and farmers market weekends. When the handle finally broke, I thought about buying a new cooler or just replacing the broken handle. It turns out that new coolers have gotten a lot more expensive since I bought them a year ago. Since replacing the grip seemed like the most economical option, I checked out the Revain and found that the OEM Igloo grips are also expensive. Then I noticed the JSP Manufacturing grips and decided to give them a try since they are half the price. Since aesthetics weren't my primary concern, I opted for black pencils over white, hoping they would last longer in the sun. The replacement pens arrived quickly and at first glance looked almost identical to the originals. On closer inspection, the dimensions are very similar, but there are some subtle differences that don't affect functionality. The screws that come with the grips appear to be the same as the originals. The dimensions of the handles are so tight that you can even install a new handle in an old receiving profile or vice versa. The new grips had a sharp, uncomfortable "mold" protrusion. Mold often occurs in injection molded plastics where two halves of a mold meet. It is easily removed by running a sharp knife along the raised edge. Please note that the handles are slightly curved (like the original) and you must mount them with the curved side facing out. This allows the handles to fold flush with the cooler side for storage and provides additional space when in use. As such, these pens appear to be reliable and affordable replacements for the original pens. Time will tell how they perform in real life, they look just as good as the real thing.
