Warm and beautiful, but horribly finished

I have long searched for the perfect set of decorative, affordable LED outdoor lights to hang on my porch. I didn't want anything very bright, but also didn't want something so soft that we couldn't see anything. The only light we originally had on the back porch is the overhead light, which is also our porch fan, and it wasn't ideal for the porch lover who likes to get out and enjoy nights out with friends and family. The overhead light was too bright. Also, I'm a fan of fairy lights. I saw them on Amazon for a great price. I put them in my shopping cart 2 days ago and thanks to Premier they arrived today and I received them tonight as the weather in Florida where I live now is amazing and perfect for the nights. ADVANTAGES: - Extremely light and easy to use. hanging. You can use thumbtacks (if you own your house/landlord allows), ribbons or even command hooks to hold it - Looks great even when it's off. - Looks great when it's on and in the dark. / in a dark room. The light is very warm and inviting, a very pale yellow candle. -- A button on the connector that controls 8 different settings, such as: B. On, blinking (at different speeds) and my FAVORITE: a kind of flickering. -- Very long ! They took up almost half of my entire porch. There is a way to connect this garland to another string of lights - not battery operated which is nice. I don't think buying batteries all the time is something I would personally try and support. I have multiple outlets on my porch and I prefer them. - LEDs for lighting, which are said to last longer and use less electricity. CONS: - It is very obvious that they are cheaply made. I hung them up before work today to keep them up. My husband took them down while I was at work and hung them properly by installing hanging hooks. He told me they were gone before he even TOUCHED them as he went out to cut and move them. What happened was that the wires connecting multiple lamps were disconnected/unplugged from the connectors within an HOUR of being delivered OUT OF THE BOX and hung. My husband had to cut and reconnect/repair the wire in THREE different places before hanging them properly to get them working again. -- TWO lightbulbs have already burned out/broken/dead and cannot be repaired. Do not connect them to other light sources. They will/can only be connected to another set of them. For lights advertised as "inside or outside" they are NOT rugged enough for either. Carton opening.Recommended? If you can't afford a light under $30, then yes. But don't expect them to last long. Made too cheap. I'll keep these lights because they're beautiful, but I'll only use them until they fall apart, then I'll look for much more durable, better constructed, real street lights. Otherwise no, I do not recommend them. Just because they're pretty doesn't mean they're worth the money. In this case, it's very similar to "I got what I paid for".

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No car
