We love this heater so far. We are using it on a 10 x 12 sundeck that we are converting into an art studio/craft room. For those wondering about the clearance: it should be 6-8 inches from the floor and then 4 inches or more from side walls/doors etc. However, the instructions also say 3 feet from anything or fuel (e.g. furniture, books etc.). , paper, clothes, curtains etc.} See attached image from the manual Hooking up the unit is definitely something for an experienced or professional - my dad (lifetime building experience) took about 3-4 hours, but he also had to upgrade our main electrics and then replace the old fuse box with a fuse box so the heater can stand on its own breaker box. He also installed a few extra outlets for me on a separate circuit in the supplies to install this (no work). The cost of all the switches, wiring, and new outlets was about $130, but that's because we basically had to redo our existing old wiring from the '70s that no longer meets safety codes. open circuit or not planning If you have a lot of power and can get by with 50 feet of cord, you could probably easily do it for $30-$50. Renovation period - the weather here is slightly above zero {35-40 degrees at night} but I expect all will be fine in the winter. The fan blows warm air at you almost immediately when you turn it on or turn on the heating, and it's very quiet when it's running - I think maybe even quieter than the forced air heating of the stove we have in the rest of the house. The design is very beautiful and concise. Everyone who saw this little heater wanted to know more about it! Another note: some reviewers have shared pictures of yellow wires sticking out at the top, but I'm not entirely sure how/why they had this issue. My only guess has to be how they routed the wires through the wall and where the holes are drilled for the wiring as if maybe the hole is too high? We have a small gap between the heater and the wall due to the wall mount design, but the wires are not visible unless you stand at an angle to look behind the block and try to see them. . Attached are some photos of the inside of the heater for connection and from the operating instructions. All in all a great product!
