For me simple is better and these controls are very basic. This really puts out some heat and fast which is great. I only knocked of a start because it had water spots on the base. Maybe from the manufacturing or it got some condensation on it in storage or shipping? Otherwise it works great and the water spots are minor. I would go 4.5 stars if I could do a half star.

This fan cranks out the heat. It radiates the heat several feet out. On the higher setting, it will start to burn your hand if you hold it within 2" of it. But you can actually brush up against or touch the grate and not get burned. So whatever that grate is made of, it is effective. This heater is named wrongly because it does not heat. I have a 10x15 ft. INSULATED shed and it will not get it above 34 degrees when it is 35 degrees or less. Simply won't. When I took it out of the box, the bottom wood piece of wood trim fell off. It did not have a "small scratch" as described when I read the description of the product. The "scratch" was approx. 5 in. long. IF you want a heater that is going to heat, look elsewhere.

The heating unit works fine. Puts out quite a bit of heat and is fairly quiet. The biggest disappointment is the remote. It's super cheapo, doesn't come with batteries, and basically it doesn't work at all. I would not recommend due to the remote control issue, which was a primary reason I purchased this one. If I had it to do over again, I would go with a different product. I guess I could return it, but what a hassle that is.

Remote does not work. Triple checked all batteries, but item is faulty and there does not appear to be any way to get a replacement without returning complete unit.

This is a very lightweight heater that has good heat. The directions are very minimal, and I am not sure how too operate it. There are only 2 knobs, and I am not sure what each does. Form what I can gather this unit only works in oscillate mode. I would like to stay stationary. Also note that it does make a soft low buzzing noise.

heats a small room but expected more from the description. never turns off in lower setting though room gets to thermostat temp and above. didn't get the remote with the heater and seller has not returned my inquiry and Walmart says it's not their fault the package was open and minus remote. blower rattles.
