Review on Lenovo Ideapad I5 9300H Processor 81LK00HDUS by Jake Larson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very good laptop (with major complaint against Lenovo representative)

This laptop is surprisingly good, quiet, light and powerful enough. I haven't tested it in many games, all I tested is Total War Warhammer II and it has stable 50+ FPS on ultra settings. With those features, I think it's a good deal. There is nothing more to say about the laptop. Upgradability: - The processor is soldered to the motherboard - There is only one slot for RAM - There is no bracket and cable for an additional hard drive and I could not find a replacement part from Lenovo when I searched for replacement parts. My big complaint is with the Lenovo rep who answers questions here on Revain. When answering questions, he said that there is an extra slot for an extra stick of RAM. Here is a link to that answer: https://www.amazon.com/ask/questions/Tx1QTL71H6BKS5Z/ref=ask_dp_dpmw_al_hza. That's a lie. There is no additional slot for RAM on this board. There is only one slot with an installed 8GB flash drive. So if you want to upgrade this laptop to 16GB of RAM like I did, you will need to buy a 16GB flash drive. I'm very disappointed with this because after reading the FAQ section I ordered another 8GB drive and now I'm stuck with two additional 8GB sticks after upgrading my laptop's storage. Also, a Lenovo representative mentioned a few times that the laptop is not user serviceable. I don't know why he said that. The bottom cover is held in place by 11 screws and can be easily removed by gently prying the latches. (2 on each side evenly) and there you have access to RAM, cooler (in case you need to clean them) and SSD. (By the way, a short version is installed, but you can also install a long stick, as it has screw caps for different sizes). A service manual with diagrams can be found on the Lenovo website in the support section. Finally, I would like to recommend undervolting the CPU and GPU. BUT ONLY IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING. IF YOU MAKE AN INCORRECT CONFIGURATION, YOUR CPU OR GPU MAY GET HEAT. I lowered the CPU voltage by -150mV and got a constant frequency of 3.99GHz with no throttling and a maximum temperature of 68°C.

Cons
