I bought sand to play with, it's pure sand. It is best to fill the sand in a ziplock bag to protect the bags, they last longer. I added 8 pounds of sand to each side of the bag resulting in a 16 pound sack. The material of the bag is good as is the strap to carry it. It has 2 zips in opposite directions on each side, the zips don't look like they could get damaged but as long as you use a ziploc sandbag you never have to open or close the zips so they should last for years even more, if you take care of them.
