This unit is used in a 10' x 6' bathroom with tile floors and wood walls and ceiling. I waited the required 24 hours before turning it on. I currently use 4 other dehumidifiers in a variety of locations ranging from powerful, expensive, all US made basements to large units like this in the 30-50 liter range. This Shinco dehumidifier works very well and accurately measures humidity as it dries. out of the bathroom in a timely manner. The controller allows you to use all the necessary programming options, although I plan to control it remotely via the WiFi connection. The bucket is not large, but is big enough to collect moisture from many hours of use and is easy to empty. I can't say anything about the energy efficiency, but the given rating is in the effective range. The only drawback is the noticeably loud compressor of this dryer. It's not broken, just noisy. A two-speed fan provides a quieter, slower fan speed, but then the compressor's vibration becomes louder than the fan's. At high fan speeds, compressor noise is suppressed. I should have guessed as it's fairly compact (one of the reasons I bought it) and has top vents (another feature I liked since my bathroom is small). .) Due to this design, the sound is not confusing as is the case with similar dehumidifiers that expel air from the side or front of the unit. However, the noise factor isn't a deal breaker for me as I don't plan on turning it on at night, but I can easily hear it down the hall in my bedroom. I would still buy a compressor dehumidifier instead of a microprocessor dehumidifier as the latter doesn't remove as much moisture as they do, especially in the rainforests of the Northeast.
