Update: 1 final star removed - Original: Buggy product

Updated review: Officially, this is a junk disk. I was strongly tempted to check its anti-crush rating. I mainly use it as a data thief. I'll explain, you see I only have about 3 minutes to connect this drive to any machine before it starts acting spastic. So I quickly plug it into my laptop, grab as many files as I can as fast as I can, and then unplug it from that computer. Then I will connect it to my server and fetch those files. I've actually gotten pretty good at it. I'd say the drive only connects to one computer before fully shutting down (3+ minutes) 2 or 3 times a week. At this point everything I do with the drive stops and it starts cycling to pull itself out and plug back in (obviously not a real cable). Over time, it became necessary to unplug the cable within 1 or 2 seconds after it was removed, as self-distance only takes 1 or 2 seconds before being recognized again. I DON'T KNOW! it's frustrating. If it hadn't been a gift I still honestly wouldn't use it. I will be ordering another disc in the near future and look forward to the day when I can cling to this one. First review: I got it as a gift. When running, it runs about 66% faster than my spinning external hard drive. I have 125MB on a spinning disk and this one is about 450MB. So it's a step forward on that front. On every other front, it's a step down. See, sometimes I only get 40MB from this drive. Other times, it blinks in the middle of a file transfer, ejects, then remembers it's plugged in and aborts the transfer with the drives window open. Forget about watching a movie or TV show straight from your disc drive. Under no circumstances will it remain connected for more than 10 minutes. The drive works this way on both my new laptop and my new custom built server. I have over 160TB on various storage devices (on my server and as offsite backups). This drive is the only one that works this way. I did not buy this one and will not buy any other.
