This is an excellent product, ready to use and works great. Quiet, bright, well made. Feels better than the porter cable I tried and is very accurate. I've used it at 90psi with 1 3/8" pins and have had no trouble threading the pins through shoe lasts, angle bars, crown bevel pins, etc. Very small note: difficult to load new pin clip. when a few more pieces on the old clip was left over. The spring mechanism compresses the two clips quite a bit when closing the magazine and the ends of the clips can double up and jam the magazine. I couldn't fix this so I just made sure to only refuel when when it's completely empty.A little awkward on the stairs but there are so many pins in the clip I didn't mind much.I don't know if it was an issue with another pin I tried because I didn't mind never thought to check this keep the oak finish on the coffered ceiling you can pin small elements (bay, rim) and you will get great results or a pin holds the back on small trim pieces while the glue sets. Things you can't put together can be snapped together and you'll probably never see a tiny hole. Also, no problems with splitting end grains! Saved me hours of hole filling and hassle. This pen has a double trigger and works well. A safety note: don't be complacent by holding the safety down while swinging the gun (away from the workpiece). There's no safety tip to push, so it fires. It's too easy to position one hand too close to the tip and get a new piercing. I haven't done it personally, but it can be done. One thing this gun isn't as good at as a finishing nailer is shooting at a low angle. There's no deep countersink to slant the nails, and the pins are so thin that the texture of the hardwood sometimes skews your punches, twisting them out of the way. If you shoot near a joint between two pieces of wood, it will be very easy for him to just follow the joint instead of going through it. Just make sure to level it before pulling the trigger and this problem will go away. A side note: it's difficult to load a new clip with pins when there are still a few left on the old clip. The spring mechanism squeezes the two clips together quite a bit when the magazine is closed, and the clips can double over and jam the magazine. I couldn't help it, so I just made sure to only refill when it's completely empty. ***Updated 12/16/2012*** I like it more than I did when I wrote the original review and have used it less than before in the last two years, it still works as well as it did on day one, than I used it. Plus, it's fun to have a tool that even some of the more experienced cabinet makers don't have. When I show them there's no hole to fill in this tiny bar, they take it twice. "Wait, let me take another look at that thing." At first they don't respect them when I take them out of the box, but it only takes a shot or two and they're in love with them.
