Review on Honey-Can-Do Dinnerware Storage Set, 5-Piece, White - SFT-01630 by Chris Pinkney

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good for everyday storage/organization but not as well padded.

First, keep an eye on price changes. I bought mine just a few days ago for $12.99, at the time of writing this it was $32.54! To be honest I wouldn't pay more than $15 for quality so I feel like I got good value for my money. Add it to your Wishlist and keep checking back. Okay, let's get to the product test. The material consists of only a few layers of plastic with a printed quilting pattern. This gives very little padding, but if you're expecting something that will protect your grandma's china from all the knocks and bumps, it's best to opt for a more expensive, well-padded, quilted fabric set. If you're just looking for something to organize your second set of dishes, keep them clean and dust-free, this set will do well for that purpose. With the exception of the cup storage box, I found this set to be very spacious. A service for eight people, a second service for four people and a few additional festive plates fit into these bags. Cup storage was another matter. It comes with cardboard inserts and a strong cardboard base that gives it good stability. However, I found that the individual compartments created by the inserts are too small to place all the cups upright. I had to turn most mugs on their sides to fit in, which isn't the safest way to store them. These are petite china mugs rather than large mugs so I was surprised and not happy to find that they don't fit when I sit upright. This isn't a deal breaker, especially for the price I paid as I rarely use the cups that come with the sets (three sips and that's it!). Just be aware that you need to be a little more careful with this container. A nice little bonus are a few stacks of Styrofoam inserts: small ones for saucers and sandwich plates, and large ones for dinner plates. I bought a pack of felt inserts to go with the set but didn't need them anymore when I found the foam inserts. I might not have been able to use additional panels if I had used thicker felt pads. Again I would use felt if trying to protect expensive or family china but then I would also opt for a well lined quilted set.
