Review on MemoryMarket Memory Card Carrying Case by Johnathan Delic

Decent quality, poor design

I shoot a lot of videos on my many trips/vacations and it usually eats up memory cards (SD). Therefore, for several years, to keep all my blank and written SD cards in a safe place, I have always carried a Canon brand "SD card wallet" with me as it takes up little space and is invisible in any pocket. But lately I've found that I need more SD cards than my wallet can hold, so I've been looking for something similar but bigger. I found this MemoryMarket product. This "Memory Card Carrying Bag" is a zippered bag that comes with a lanyard that you can attach at will. I like the zipper because it prevents SD cards from accidentally falling out. Inside the bag is a small "book" of translucent vinyl "pages", eight of them as I recall. Each side only has pockets on one side, and most sides have three SD card-sized pockets, although the outermost sides have two Compact Flash-sized pockets (which still accept SD cards, albeit more loosely). All is well and good. That's about 20 cards in a carrying case. When I started loading the sleeve with my SD cards (and I needed EVERY pocket to hold all my cards) I found that the extra thickness added by inserted cards made the pages in a book cover very tightly packed. Then I found that when fully loaded, the sides aren't really wide enough to allow for easy access to the cards in their pockets, as adjacent loaded sides are bloated. Getting every card in or out of your pocket can be a real challenge. I'm afraid this will rip the rather flimsy vinyl pages/bags. Only time can tell. In my old SD card wallet, the pockets were sized so that the end of each SD card protruded slightly from the pocket, allowing me to grab the little notch in the card with my fingernail to get it out better. Pocket. In this Memory Market tote case, the pockets are large enough for SD cards to fit completely inside these pockets, making it difficult to grab the SD cards to remove them. I can't get to the SD card slot. with my fingernail so I have to dig with the tips of my pencils etc. Not ideal. This product could be greatly improved if the dimensions of the pockets were adjusted a bit and the binding of the pages was loosened a bit. to facilitate access to SD cards on fully loaded pages.
