part works! No, I didn't have to cut the jack in half.

Round entry is difficult to install without a little creativity. No you don't have to cut it in half, it even takes away from the cozy feel this piece has. However, it can be a beast to install. I had to make a spacer out of wood to install with the C clamp. It worked well. However, I spent an hour installing the round jack. (No creative inspiration.) I have photos of the part installed and the device I took. I'll add them later when I take some photos. The last person to work on the hub destroyed the rails that hold it up. I will have to get a new bracket later, but the part fits perfectly and is secure. The rear hub was easy to install, but because someone had rounded the bolts I had to use a puller to pull them out. The bolts that came with the kit fit well and were easy to hand tighten before being torqued. All in all it was a good deal and a pleasure to replace my fully split front hub and badly worn rear hub. I'll just have to wait until I get the new U-Joint bushings before I can comment on overall stability and such. This kit was installed on a '96 Subaru Legacy Brighton.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
