This product is by far the best chip removal tool I have come across in my life. I have a lot of tweezers of different shapes and sizes, "paint ointment", I have tried tape, bandages, potatoes, various needles, glue, hydrogen peroxide and bacon. None of these fit Splinter Out's soles. It's just a small piece of metal with a well-built, low-profile triangular tip at the end. This tip perfectly catches and sticks even the smallest fragments. If this sounds too much like a plain old pin, I assure you it is not! It can also be used (although I don't think it's "recommended") to pierce the skin at the end of the shard (if it's not too deep under the skin) and push it out a bit. This is very useful when your splinter is not visible and has penetrated deep under the skin. While luckily I didn't get a chance to test it on broken glass, I can safely say it works well on broken wood and metal. They are supplied sterile and individually wrapped. The ease of use and exceptional effectiveness of this product, as well as the practical packaging, make it an indispensable part of the first aid kit. They are affordable and irreplaceable. Once you use one of them for the first time, you'll wonder how you lived part of your life without them!
