Soon as I opened the package, the chemical odor of off-gassing hit me full force. I am hoping that giving them airing time before trying to use them will be sufficient.Due to having asthma & other chronic illnesses that make me very sensitive to odors, this could be a deal-breaker; time will tell.I will update my review of this product for sure. As for now, I have to get them out of my bedroom to finish airing them out; single digit outdoor temperature & snow makes putting them outside for airing not a good option.UPDATE:I returned these. After a couple of days of "airing" them, they still maintained the off-gassing odor. That in itself is a deal-breaker.A reduction to one star, because as I carefully took them apart for sending them back, I noticed they're not made as well as some other cubes that I have. Honestly, I could make nicer ones by just upcycling cereal boxes & covering them w/ pretty paper or fabric, and not have the awful odor!I suspect all the reviews saying that these cubes are great/high quality are not "real" reviews (or people just have really low standards). In part I believe this to be true, because this is now my THIRD (maybe 4th) attempt to post this review! I find negative reviews that are detailed to be helpful; I assume other do also, so I hope this review gets posted.Summary: Just say no to chemical off-gassing!
