I have two Chep Vtech Dect 6.0 cordless phones at home that work very well for the price. They come with tiny 150mAh batteries that can only last three days on a full charge, even if you don't talk about them much. I got tired of hanging my phones on the charger every two or three days and decided I needed a bigger battery. It worked. Charging is now once a week, there may be some juice left in the batteries. Now I'm much happier and don't have to worry about the battery draining during a call. I've had these batteries in my phones for several months, there have been no charging or leaking issues. Both worked right out of the box and continue to work well. Be sure to charge them fully before first use. This should get you on the right track with them.
