The Sony SS-CNK10ED was a 2-way center channel mated to a 2006 co-developed SS-K-ED (enhanced resolution) speaker line was connected . a venture between Sony and B&W (according to internet sources). Sony had SS-K90ED, SS-K70ED, SS-K10ED and I have SS-CNK10ED speakers. Prices looked good for components of this quality. Having bought the SS-K10ED to build a surround sound system I understand why so many of them are back on Ebay. The brightness of the speakers was insane, the highs hurt the ears and to be honest the tone and highs made them inaudible with a tight sound so I thought the mid could be better but not by much. After denying myself and having the courage not to give up, it occurred to me that maybe the new three-way crossovers could help. So now I have a total of 4 of these center channels and have converted the two-way speakers into three-way speakers. Now it's very thin cymbals and incredibly clear mids and lows. They are one of a kind and I doubt they could sound better, these are truly audiophile speakers now. I like that they are now 3-way in a 4.1 configuration based on my Sony STRZA-1100ES. I did it myself without hiring a professional and didn't find it difficult, the whole job took 10 hours. I'm glad I don't have to sell them and they sound so damn good - 5 stars. I will be installing a two way crossover from this brand on the 5 SS-K10ED I have. If you have good components, this crossover will not let you down. I'm thrilled with the results.
