Does not fit 97 Tahoe 5.7 RWD

This power steering pump does not fit our 97 Tahoe 5.7L RWD. has an additional stem over the existing one that we are trying to replace.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Wrong steering reservoir

I bought this for a 2005 GMC Yukon XL Denali. Please note that the pump works but the tank is not suitable for the car. The Denali model has a hose that connects to the baking system, which the one I ordered didn't have. So check if you have such a tank. save yourself a headache. Although the power steering pump works fine.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Loose change

Save time and money Replace the idler pulleys when you replace the pump.

This has helped my truck a lot. I added a radiator and flooded the entire system with synthetic fluid. 95% better steering. The only negative (maybe my fault) is a chirp and then a squeak in the strap. I advise you to change the entire tensioner and belt at once. My squeaky belt was basically fixed after replacing all the idler pulleys.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Hard to say

The "NEW " AC DELCO pump is defective.

I bought this pump last year and had it for a few months before installing it. It has now been in use for about a year. It now fails. He started whining about a month ago, now he's really whining. I checked all the connections, changed the fluid. Even installed a vacuum pump to try and remove any trapped air that might be inside. Well, it's toast, so this 'new' pump is no better than a crappy makeover.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Brief instructions

Time is money! I wasted both!

New pump purchased and defective. Needs to be replaced. I replaced the hydraulic booster after replacing the pump, thinking that was the problem. It's not like this. A brand new pump has not worked since the day it was installed. I just step on the brake and it makes noise. Pulley/tensioner/belt replaced. Had a proper flush/bleed. Hundreds of dollars for what should have been a simple project, all because of a defective factory pump.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Compatibility

Works well but noisy. Loud pump not worth the price

I bought this pump after reading some of the reviews and also because it is an AC Delco. The pump works as it should and was nice and quiet for the first week or two, but after 9 weeks it was almost as noisy as the one I replaced it with so I replaced it! This is a remanufactured pump when I thought it was new. Otherwise I wouldn't pay so much. I think the next step would be to buy one to steal.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

The pump works fine in the power steering

Bought a 'used' item at a discount from Warehouse Deals. Impossible to tell if it was considered "used" as it was a remanufactured item (typical of auto parts but something I did NOT want for that particular item) or just a returned item. However, I couldn't see it and it worked fine. He was also eligible for a $20 rebate on returning Delco's main AC product, so I got that too by sending the old one back. Happy with the purchase.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Not happy with everything

Is the pump new or refurbished?

I don't know what happened here but the pump ran fine for about 1 week and then the relief valve "Pssst" The first simple step was to remove the flow control/pressure relief valve and to my surprise it was rebuilt. The leading edge of the flow control valve was cut away and a replacement ring attached to it. I couldn't look into the hole to check for wear, but the pressure relief valve leaked air when I put a piece of plastic tubing on the end and blew through my mouth. The flow control valve…

Pros
  • Easy to use

  • Appearance

Be careful with the steering system

Information before you buy. Although it says AC Delco, it's made in China. I replaced the pump and found that the high pressure hose o-ring (the new one did not come with the pump) was not seated properly. unfortunately pinned so as not to damage the o-ring and after a 100 mile ride for 1000 miles the line leaked draining the reservoir. I was able to tighten the fitting enough to slow the leak, smashed the o-ring, and hobbled home. It turned out that the new high pressure line fitting did not…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
