Well, who would have thought that cable ties aren't all created equal. I bought these to attach gutter extensions to my downspouts with plastic sleeves. Ended last year's 14 inch zip ties. I bought them believing they will work in the same application. no These cable ties only have teeth on ONE SIDE, the front. because you want a tight seal. These zip ties kept twisting without tightening them as tight as I needed because they were smooth plastic on the back, there was nothing to catch when I unscrewed them with pliers. There were about three old ones I found and I took note that the reason they worked better is because the old ones have teeth on either side so you can turn them all the way without locking the turnbuckle turn. (left pic: these zip ties, right pic: my old zip ties.) These zip ties are great for securing something to something UNLESS you're worried about them being super tight.
