This case is well made and easy to assemble. Many of these cheaper cases have plug port issues. Not this one. And the way to connect the hard drive is perfect! I'm not worried about the hard drive not turning off at all. It will be great for travel. I use my portable devices to back up my movie collection and it stays on my "Wish List" so I have easy access to orders when I need another drive. After putting everything together, I plugged it into my "Vista" computer and it started up with no problems. The drive light seems to flicker when in use, so it's easy (and safe) to know when to turn it off. The only "unknown" is "How long will this take?". If it doesn't last the first year I'll update this review.
