All metal - tough and fills the area
I replaced some old screens that I was using with these. I was very impressed. They are all metal versus a metal and plastic combination. I think they will last longer and stay more sanitary because of no plastic. They are shallow but fill the top of the drain (my older ones moved around). These stay stationary and don't let things in through the gaps on the side - a very important thing! Finally, they are not a screen of lightweight material - it is more like holes within a strainer. That is why I replaced my old ones, because the screen had been torn. Very nice replacement and a reasonable cost too!
