GRINDED IN LESS THAN A WEEK. another disappointment with Dell

My recent experience with this monitor (and other Dell products) is that Dell cannot be trusted. I bought one of these monitors direct from Dell (via Amex promotion). 3 days worked EXCELLENT. On the 3rd day during use, a small bruise appeared. Then a horizontal line formed. Then the whole screen started to flicker. Thin lines then appeared every few pixels below the original horizontal line, giving the screen a two-tone appearance. Then, when I closed the window, the "halo" of what was on the screen lingered for quite a while before disappearing. Dell will be a replacement but I've been stuck without a monitor for about a week. Now a few words about my broader experience with Dell. I bought a top of the line Dell laptop (>$3000) last year and after a few days the warnings/errors started appearing and wouldn't stop. After a few days, everyone involved decided the thing needed to be replaced. Then, a few weeks ago, problems arose that required replacing the motherboard and keyboard of a new laptop. Of course, even though I bought a next-day premium service contract, the parts don't get installed until a month later. Now the premium monitor I bought needs to be replaced within 3 days. Dell. WHAT DO YOUR HIGH QUALITY PRODUCTS PERFORM? As for your prospective Dell customers, interpret this as you wish. Are you willing to risk the mountain of disappointment I experienced? FYI if you decide to buy from Dell I can tell you that their tech support is friendly, polite and everything. However, the service area seems to be too fragmented and most requests get answers like . "We'll put it in the case notes" or "I'll email if so and so tells me more." DELL what do you think this adds to anything other than disappointment no matter how nice the staff are. Oh, and just so you know, I've been a Dell shareholder for many years. So I'm not speaking as a Dell hater. The above is just an unfortunate experience I've had with Dell over the past 15 or so months.
