We have exhausted all other methods to get our almost 6 year old daughter to stop thumb sucking. This handheld immobilizer worked great during sleep and night sleeps to keep her fingers away from her mouth. She can't bend her arm in it, the metal makes it difficult to bend. She complained about the feel of the fabric (like a mesh with small holes in it) so I just cut a piece of flannel to put between the skin and the immobilizer. She has sensory problems. It worked out great and now she's keeping her hands off it.
