This light has a very soft glow. It is definitely easier on the eyes than any other lamp. If you train to sleep, this lamp is too bright for a "night light". It's perfect for babies when you feed your baby frequently and need to see better than with a traditional wall light. I bought this for my 1 year old son to use as a night light but it's too bright. I use them instead for soft light on bedtime stories. That calms him down a lot. I turn off the light bulb and use the night lights to sleep. The glow is so soothing that I'm considering another purchase just for my own reading lamp.
