The first day this portable heater was used for almost 20 hours continuously even though it didn't heat up. Then I was wondering if I'll leave it on for another 4 hours (24 hours to be exact and since I can't sleep anyway) will there finally be enough heat. Gradually the durable plastic frame of this portable heater absorbs heat and WOW it delivers even heat and I loved the timed wall mounted home heater that really saves energy (ON when it gets cold and OFF when it starts heating). You have to leave it on for 24 hours for the strong plastic frames to absorb the heat, and that's where the magic happens, heating a small area (not the entire room, just the area where you're watching TV or using your computer). Make sure you place it within 3-4 feet of where you want it, but also make sure there's nothing around the heater that could easily burn out. So as soon as it warms up, you'll be content and comfortable. UPDATED as of March 2019, used it every day for 12 straight hours ---- and still worked like a rabbit.
