Review on Microsoft Surface Pro 3 Type Cover (Cyan) by William Rothstein

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Slightly overpriced, valuable keyboard

I bought my Surface Pro 3 about two and a half years ago and have loved it ever since. I have mixed feelings about the cover/keyboard, but overall I'm happy with it. My biggest complaints were the seemingly random instances where it struggled to get a working connection to a computer (admittedly something that never required more than turning it off) and the high price for such a limited piece of technology. Despite these concerns, in the last six months alone, the magnetic strip along the top edge of the keyboard has become detached and, after being removed again, eventually fell off. Given my cautious attitude towards it, I thought it was a short keyboard life. I temporarily solved the problem with super glue, but ended up having to buy a new one. Price aside, I'm very happy with my new keyboard. The texture is a bit stiffer and the lid is larger than my original and I love that extra protection. I had no trouble typing and it usually connects just as well as the previous one. However, I will be much more careful when removing it in the future. All in all a good buy.

Pros
  • The full-featured and functional Surface Pro 3 Type Cover features a US QWERTY keyboard, a full range of function keys (F1-F12), Windows keyboard shortcuts, and media controls. Control the cursor with your fingertip using the integrated touchpad.
Cons
  • So far so good
