I'm always hesitant to leave feedback immediately after receiving an item. I'd rather wait until I've used it for a period of time to decide if I like the way it actually works. I bought this item specifically for honey distribution. It turned out to be a complete disappointment. Building materials initially turned out to be what I wanted. The glass jar and metal lid seem to indicate I'm going to have a durable product that will perform like I've wanted for years. However, the item came with a flexible rubber gasket(?) or O-ring that had to be placed on the rim of the glass jar before the metal lid was screwed on. This seal design was the source of my dissatisfaction. Try as I might, I was never able to achieve a good seal that didn't inevitably reveal a stream of sticky honey slowly oozing out of the container, leaving the honey dipper either on the countertop or in the cupboard. Really disappointed! I've never had this problem with the cheap plastic bottles I had before. In the future I will stick with plastic.
