The bristles are soft and flexible and therefore suitable for light, fine dirt. Not designed for pebbles, wet leaves, clumps of dirt, etc. But the brush attachment does a good job of picking up the fine dust in the bowl - the last remaining particles that many broom/dust bag combinations leave behind. The plastic of the dustpan is also very flexible and sticks to the floor. They are smaller than the well known brands I usually buy at big hardware stores. And the broom sticks to the dustpan handle very stubbornly - it's hard to separate them, so it's a scam. The packaging was over the top and it took too long to remove the bubble wrap wrapped around all four handles.
