works for me and here's why

I read other reviews quite extensively before purchasing this and almost all the flaws mentioned are real flaws. But what matters in the end is whether it works for you, the person considering buying it. I leave mine and explain why, listing the disadvantages: 1) the settings are left at the last setting: you can use the clock as a lamp at any time, and the brightness of the lamp is adjustable; But whatever you set it to when you use it as a lamp is the maximum brightness it will achieve the next time you use it as an alarm clock. So if you want maximum brightness in the morning (I want it) but it's too bright to be used as a reading light (it really is), you'll need to dim it to alert level before switching it on each time. turned off like a reading lamp. The same applies to the volume: if you want to use the radio independently of waking up, the set volume is the volume at which the next alarm will wake you up. It's not ideal. Can you either live with the inconvenience of constantly changing settings, or do what I do: put a separate reading lamp next to it on the bedside table and people usually listen to the radio while hanging out in the bedroom? Not me. 2) The digital clock display is too bright even on the darkest setting: I have the most dimmed setting and while it's a bit dimmer than most other alarm clocks, I agree that it would be nice if an even brighter setting was available . No breach of contract terms. 3) It can take 15 minutes of sleep: A common complaint in negative reviews is that the lights wake you up before the sounds go out, so you lose 15 minutes of sleep. I figured that would happen to me too, so on the first day I set my alarm 15 minutes later than usual, assuming the light would wake me in the middle of the 30-minute artificial sunrise. It didn't happen and I was about 15 minutes late for work. But maybe you sleep better than me; does not matter. Find out when you naturally wake up during the 30-minute sunrise and set the alarm time to wake you up when you want or need. never mind The only problem is that if you're a heavy sleeper like me, you won't actually see the 30 minute sunrise. When you wake up, you notice a brief glimmer of bright light before you turn it off because you need to brush your teeth or whatever in the next room. I don't know if it mattered that the light got brighter while I slept. I know I woke up happy, but maybe that's just because the sound of waking up was birdsong. I love songbirds. 4) The touch display makes it difficult to find the buttons: if left alone with the lamp off, it only shows the time (and a small alarm icon if the alarm is on). If you wave your hand in front of the clock, the tiny touch buttons also light up around the clock. Are they hard to find? Not when the lamp is off. They're small, but you still remember where each is after a single use. However. In the morning, when the 30-minute sunrise has just ended and you're trying to turn off the alarm, but the lamp is on at maximum brightness, you're kind of looking at the sun and trying to find the button to turn off the alarm. It is difficult, annoying and hurts the eyes. I'm not a fan. But it's just a second every morning, I'll live with it. 5) The clock wobbles: It really isn't. It's very light though, and even if it's perfectly stable if you just stand there, it's likely to fall right off the table if you hit it hard to take a nap. I don't wake up full of Hulk powers so that wasn't a problem. I like that it's light. 6) The plastic seems cheap: what? No! They feel very light, but otherwise the watch feels sleek and futuristic, not cheap. I mean, yeah, it's plastic. But it's the same with most of my laptops, you know? 7) The LED lamp is not replaceable and does not contain a battery. So if there's a temporary power outage, you'll have to reset the time: I'm not worried that the LED bulb will light up anytime soon, especially since I don't use this clock as a bulb outside of the alarm time. But yes, having to reset the time every time a crash occurs is going to be a problem. However, this is not a problem. 8) You really need to read the manual to learn how to use it because it's counterintuitive: well, I'm a manual reader by nature. The manual that came with this watch was incredibly short and sweet. Read it once, it's very easy to understand and it takes 5 minutes. General impressions: - Missed sunrise because I'm sleeping during it, so I don't really rely on this watch to get through the winter - I also got a light box - Birdsongs are wonderful - I like the volume, brightness when waking up and the brightness of the clock display are adjustable. It's a lot more customizable than my previous $15 alarm clocks. I don't mind that the sunrise time can't be adjusted. I don't mind that the darkest setting of the watch face could be darker. I really like the feel of this watch, the slick touchscreen display, the fact that the buttons light up when you hold your hand close to them. UPDATE: I went without an alarm for about 2 weeks and used my phone's alarm clock instead. After the first few days I fell asleep regularly in the morning. When I got up and turned on the light, it took my eyes some time to get used to it. I felt overwhelmed. Then I reunited with my morning alarm and BOOM, didn't want to hit the snooze button anymore and woke up happy again and not tired!
