Main Battery Leads Vehicle Length - Subaru Outback

Gauge 0 (1/0) has an OD of 8.25 AWG. I measured 10.2mm by gently pressing the caliper onto the exposed copper between the outer jacket and the round pin that I inserted the wire into. So that I can be sure that the diameter corresponds to the one specified. Because the wire is a spool of spools of spools, the outside diameter is not a circle. Maybe that's why I measured more than the standard. At least that explains what savvy buyers want to know. That you get enough diameter for the specification sold. Spool after spool of copper, together with a polyurethane jacket, is exceptionally flexible and pleasant to the touch. It was nice to work. I made a weekend out of it. I measured exactly 25 feet for black and red. Funny how the price varies by color :-) I used a vise to crimp the ring terminals against the screw to insert into one side of the terminals. The terminal and wired interface felt unusually rigid in a good way. All strands compress really well into a strong terminal. The reviews I saw before buying were as stupid as expecting the sun not to fade on their wire. If you're asking for more features than they have, I think you're asking too much. As a side note, I've also found that running the ground along the length of your run/car along with the positive wire has tremendous benefits! Your case might be grounded, but it's unreliable and conducts electricity through/near/around all components in its path. And when they are together, the current electric fields in the positive wire are neutralized by being in such close proximity (linked to lightning) with their counterpart. That's right, reduced/no stereo hum.
