This is pretty much a standard 'helping hand' that can be cheaper but always at a low price. At this price point they're pretty much all the same - sometimes just what you need, but sometimes it takes a pair of pliers to tighten the connections enough - a wing nut on one side and a smaller thumbscrew on the other, which can be a bit heavy to keep. The light is a nice little addition, small but not as dim as I expected. You will need 3x LR44/AG13/357 batteries, a fairly standard battery for small devices, I have a few laying around. If it saves someone time to mount them upside down - they will be stacked positive side to the screw cap! The switch is an on/off switch that feels like it could hold up just fine. One difference I noticed between this one and the previous one it replaced: my old one's heavy base had foam underneath for a little padding, this one doesn't have that, it's just crumpled painted metal that can scratch a delicate surface. A bit of cork, felt, or rubber can get stuck if that's a problem. For the price it works as expected. Easier than having someone hold your work while you burn your fingers :-)
