Review on Zadro Magnification Cordless Lighted Oil Rubbed by Matt Reid

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good mirror, bad mounting hardware

I would give the mirror itself 4 or 5 stars - I like the magnification and the light; I didn't have it long enough to know if I would have the same light issues as others. However, the mounting material gets 0 stars. I have owned and installed many of these mirrors but have never seen such a flimsy mounting plate and screws. Due to the weight of the mirror, 4 screws are definitely needed to attach the mounting plate to the wall and I ended up using better quality 2 hole wall anchors. Unfortunately I've already drilled holes and installed the anchors that came with the mirror for a few holes, so the wall in my new house is quite a mess. And I had such trouble installing the mirror that I dropped the first one and broke it, so I had to buy another one (10x magnification is hard to find in ORB). The second actually had a mounting plate that was better aligned than the first but still flimsy. If you omit the anchors and screws that came with the mirror and use the ones you bought yourself, you will be doing yourself a huge favor and you may be happy with the mirror.
