Love these, bought 3 of these (along with matching ankle pants). They kept me warm in record low temperatures on Whiteface Mountain in New York. You don't really need a thicker material - the thickness is practically irrelevant. It will fit snugly around you like spandex, retaining all of your body heat while allowing moisture to pass through. I usually wear it as a base layer with a Patagonia fleece mid-layer and then with my shell. On warmer ski days, you can easily remove the middle layer and slip it over the shell. They are very thin, densely packed and simply stunning from every angle.
