I wear this brand all the time, they even though they are lighter still serve a purpose. Don't buy any other brand. Serious.

I thought it would be warmer but it turned out great because sometimes I don't need anything warmer. Durable, well washed, like all products from this company.

Doesn't keep you warm. It was still cold in 35 degree weather with light cloud cover at 3mph. Maybe this is a good base coat for spring. But definitely not for the "frosty" Southern California winters.

You don't really need a thicker material - the thickness is practically irrelevant. It will fit snugly around you like spandex, retaining all of your body heat while allowing moisture to pass through.
