For years I used the more common 6 foot, 1/2 inch version of siphon hoses. But for gassing my boat I found the 6 foot hose was barely long enough and I also wanted to try a bigger hose to empty 5 gallon cans quicker. This hose is well-made, seals against backflow very well, and is maybe twice as fast as the 1/2 inch version. I'm glad I got it and highly recommend.
