Perfect Little Starter!

This Ukelele was perfect for my 18 month old. He was really into Coco and kept pretending to play air guitar when Miguel played his guitar in the movie. It's made of plastic so it is durable for a rambunctious toddler. Of course we still try to teach him to handle instruments with care but I don't cringe if it gets bumped or dropped. For the quality and price point I would highly recommend!

Pros
  • My 3 year old wanted a little guitar and this worked perfectly, he loves it.
Cons
  • Not suitable for children under three years old

Not worth it: my feedback

While this is a sturdy toy and I think it would be nice for a baby to get familiar with an instrument. I just can’t recommend this toy. I didn’t expect a miracle. I expected to tune this as much as I do my other cheap ukulele for kids (every time it gets played). This one just can’t be tuned at all. I only like the fact that it can’t seem to be destroyed. I’m kind of sad I didn’t spend just a bit more ($5-10) and get a better beginner uke. It might not have survived as long but they could have…

Pros
  • Musical Instruments
Cons
  • May not be suitable for left-handed children

It doesn’t hold tune

I have to tune it every 5 minutes to make it sound like a ukelele . Seriously I would rather send 20Bucks more and buy a real one so my kid can learn the right sound

Pros
  • ★ MINI & SAFE TOY UKULELE -- Our kit includes: 1 17-inch mini Ukulele, 1 Ukulele strap and 1 gliding fret. Made from environmental friendly ABS plastic material, does no harm to little kids’ body
Cons
  • May be confusing for children with little musical background

So much fun for 5 year old

I got this for my son who is 5 and had been mentioning he wants a ukulele. This was by far his favorite Christmas present. It’s a plastic guitar. He plays a little rough with it at times but it’s still in great shape!

Pros
  • Helps children appreciate music in a deeper way
Cons
  • May not work well in high humidity conditions

Cute toy for a 18month old but not realistic sound

It’s cute for 18 months old to not use his 9 year old brothers guitar, but definitely is toylike sound. So if you are looking for more realistic sound you will have to spend more money.

Pros
  • ★ WONDERFUL GIFT FOR CHILDREN -- Nice gift for children on Christmas, birthday, Children’s Day, and for party. Similar design to concert Ukulele except the material is cheaper and smaller, which makes a reasonable price for your little one or a beginner to practice without worrying breaking the instrument. Perfect introduction to teach kids about the world of music, developing their musical aptitude
Cons
  • May require parental assistance for assembly

Great 17 " Plastic Uke!

I have a 17 inch wood travel uke. There are 21 inch plastic ukes that can be used for travel, but I was looking for a 17 inch one, so it could fit in a backpack easier. This one has metal tuners, good frets, and seems to stay in tune fairly well. Of course plastic does not sound as good as my wood one, but it has a reasonably decent sound and I am not as worried about it getting damaged in a backpack. It came when I was gone and do to the labeling on the box was put in a refrigerator for 5…

Pros
  • Teaches children the value of practice
Cons
  • May require additional accessories for maintenance

A real feeling toy. Perfect for my 3 yr old

Got for my 3 year old to "play" when brother or mom play. I like that it looks and sounds real, but is plastic so i don't worry about her dropping and scratching a wooden one (which is inevitable) i originally tuned and played when i bought it but have not touched it since so i am not sure how well it plays over time. Perfect for my needs though! It is great if you are teaching how to properly hold and care for an instrument. It is more real than it is a toy.

Pros
  • Boosts brain development
Cons
  • May not be as sturdy as other toys for rough play

Excellent quality on my review.

My two year old toddler has had it for a month. So far it is exceeded my expectations. For the price it has withstood beating from my toddler with drum sticks, standing on it with both feet and he weighs 30 lbs and playing on the strings with every toy car/truck/train. He loves it.

Pros
  • I bought this thinking it was guitar but I clearly didn’t read the label lol but my son loves it
Cons
  • Picks may be too small for some children to hold comfortably

Holiday gift for my 3 year old.

He absolutely loves it. And its a great toy. I tuned it the best I could. But after everything it's still just a toy. 3 years and up.

Pros
  • 3 years and up
Cons
  • Strings may break easily with rough play

Adorable gift for a child!

I bought this as a gift for my grand daughter who is toddler aged. It is very much like a real one but definitely more of a toy. Perfect for her to play along with mom!

Pros
  • Fosters a love for learning
Cons
  • May not be as socially engaging as other educational toys

Mine came damaged in my review

Mine came with damage which is saying an awful lot because my beastly one year old hasn't managed to do any damage to it at all. It's pretty amazing. Just wish there was any quality control. We were looking for a tiny guitar because my girl always loves her daddy playing guitar and wants to play with him and grab the strings but that's dangerous. So we got this one and it 100% served it's purpose.

Pros
  • No
Cons
  • May not be adjustable for different arm lengths and hand sizes

My two-year old grandson loves it

My grandson loves when I play the ukulele so I wanted to get him one. I leaned toward getting him a real ukulele but was aware of the problems with that idea. First, a real uke needs to be kept in tune. Second a wooden uke is delicate and most are too big for him. After reading the reviews for this toy uke, I realized that it was the best choice. It is inexpensive so no one is agonizing over how he is treating it. Let's face it little kids can be rough. He loves to turn the tuners so it is never

Pros
  • Gift to granddaughter
Cons
  • Strings may be difficult for some children to press down

It actually makes pretty sounds!

This ukulele is amazing for the price! We have 8 children and have purchased children's guitars before and they were all pretty pitiful, not making any decent sounds. This little ukulele, although not a guitar obviously, is sooo much better than all the little guitars we purchased. Our toddler loves it! The strings actually make pretty sounds and it's pretty sturdy. Our son is super active and it's holding up really well. We were so impressed with it!

Pros
  • Helps children learn about pitch and melody
Cons
  • May require additional accessories for proper use

Good purchase. for my opinion

My 1yr old is a beast. I call him "Destruction Derby" alot lately. He LOVES "2 Chellos", and Lindsay Sterling. I got him this because he was mimicking air chello. He has yet to break anything on it and it's been 2 months. He's 30lbs, and 36in tall. So, the size of a two yr old. He's super strong and can throw this across the room. While, that's not really kosher . . . Nothing broke when it hit the steel front door with a crash so loud it startled the cat.Sure, he thinks its a baby chello, and…

Pros
  • Fosters a love for music
Cons
  • May not foster an appreciation for different types of music

don't expect music in tune

I love how cheap and light this thing is. but it has a couple of problems if you want to play music that sounds good. First, it doesn't stay in tune well. For more than. 5 minutes. Second, if you press down the strings to the fingerboard in order to finger a pitch, it actually puts enough bend on the string that it makes the pitch out of tune, even if the open string is in tune.So. can't recommend.

Pros
  • Engages children in a new hobby
Cons
  • May require frequent cleaning to maintain quality sound

Perfect for our 3 yr old

Great little ukulele that can be a toy or played for real. Also fairly durable since it survived a fall down our stairs. Beware that it will need tuned quite a bit I the beginning. May be better for a kid with good focus/patience.

Pros
  • Improves hand strength and dexterity
Cons
  • May not be as fun as other musical toys

Revainrating 5 out of 5

appropriate for toddlers

My grandson did enjoy the toy Ukulele Guitar. It was the right size. This is not to learn on, it is a toy and you can not tune it.The pictures are a little more flattering the the actual thing but for a toddler it works well.

Pros
  • I bought this for my Grandson. He is thrilled with it. It was packaged well and was sent promptly.
Cons
  • Design may not appeal to all children

My grandson loves it!

We purchased this for our grandson as a gift and he absolutely loves it. He plays with it nearly daily. It seems to be made well enough to survive the play that a 2 yr old dishes out.

Pros
  • Helps build confidence
Cons
  • May not be as enjoyable as other toys for some children

Durable so kids can uke till they puke

This is a tough ukulele for a toddler. It is a little hard to keep in tune, but like that matters when she prefers to use it as a percussion mallet and/or to torment the cats. Keeps her happy and not destroying my real string instruments. Great purchase!

Pros
  • Engages children's senses
Cons
  • May not be as effective as other educational instruments

off by half a note in my review

If you just want a fun pretend instrument, this toy is great. If you want a fun toy instrument that you can still use to pick out a tune (like the cheap plastic recorders that still play the same notes as real ones), this is not it. There's no way to play a half step up from the open string, the first fret is at a whole note, then it moves up in halves as it should. Not sure why someone would bother to make a ukulele with tunable strings, then put the frets in the wrong places. I suppose you…

Pros
  • YOLOPLUS+
Cons
  • May not withstand repeated drops or impacts
