Review on 🔍 Pentek WP 5BB97P Polypropylene Cartridge with String Wound Design for Enhanced Performance by Andrew Dickens

As another reviewer noted, this is incorrectly described as 0.5 microns when in fact it is 5 microns. This is good as I wanted 5 micron and accidentally ordered 0.5 micron last time. The model number is almost the same except for the ".". We have well water rich in iron and manganese and low in sediment. We use it as a whole house filter in front of other treatment devices and reverse osmosis systems. Over time we have tried different types of filters including blow and filament filters like this one. This is one of the few 5 micron 10" string filters rated at 20 GPM. Thread filters seem to work best for our water and seem to filter better and make the water tastier. With blown polyethylene we still have some of the annoyances that thread filters seem to eliminate. The flow rate seems a bit better with this model's filter, so I think we'll stick with that.
