Has it been redesigned? for printer parts and supplies

When I installed this drum in my Brother printer I was expecting good crisp copies, as always with the start of a new drum, but this drum had vertical streaks like the old one I removed would have . I've tried cleaning the wire several times, but it hasn't helped much (as did my old one). It just makes me think maybe it was a remanufactured drum. My last drum lasted a few years after I installed it. That's very disappointing.
