I cook a lot and in bulk. That's the only way I can cook. I can't cook for 2 people but I can cook for 52 people. It could be something from the Appalachia. Anyway, I needed more storage trays and they were the perfect size. The lids snap tightly so you know they're actually closed. This is not a guessing game. I'm too old for games. When I put them in the freezer I make sure they're not completely full, then I take the print and seal piece (I don't work for either company!) and make sure it's completely sealed. to then off the lid. I think it helps avoid freezer burn. In terms of size, one of these gives me 2 huge portions of chowder/soup/pasta etc. Once thawed I put them in the fridge for at least a day and then pour the contents into a saucepan over low heat to reheat and broth or milk or what add whatever goes with the dish. I've never used them in the microwave, but I think you could for a short while. Be sure to ventilate! They wash clean with a simple hand wash. I add a little olive oil or canola oil to the bowl and lid before adding the tomato-based products to minimize staining. I expect to use them for years!
