If your car is dark enough inside, you won't see it at all. But even in bright light it doesn't bother at all. The camera works well both during the day and at night. There are no line markers to help with parking, but if you aim the camera correctly you can set it up so that the bottom of the camera reflects where the red line marker would be if it were there. SLR optics are pretty good. I don't find it noticeably darker than my original mirror. I've heard people steal these cameras so be aware that putting them on your license plate will be very noticeable. I installed mine under the bumper but I have a truck with a slight height so this may not work for you. I had no issues with cable spacing for my old F150, although the camera cables barely reached. In short, it's definitely value for money, with customer support available when you need it. I don't think you'll find a better rear camera for the money.
