Then you notice all the imperfections like straps not staying where you want them, not enough velcro, not enough ankle support, not enough of everything. Does not support footfall when sleeping. Refused to keep foot at 90 degree angle. When you take the bandage off and stop swelling, throw that shoe away. Just fine, like after the op. When everyone else gives you shoes that don't fit your foot, you use them to sleep without gaining weight. The ankle strap chafing there was a mess. Too few days. It had to be sewn half an inch higher.
