Review on Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 Image Stabilized USM SLR Lens for EOS Digital SLR Cameras - White Box (Bulk Packaging) by Bujang'e Lor Nganim ᠌

This glass fell into my hands from a good friend, at the price of a whale plug 18-55, it was a sin not to take it, at least for resale :). So I took on the role of a budgetary stabilized width, because a wide angle in life is very rarely needed . To be honest, the disappointment is quite strong, in terms of quality it is head and shoulders below the plastic novokit 18-55 IS. AF, even though USM is slow. The glass itself is very dark, the aperture drops strongly at the ends. Optical distortion is sad. The front lens block is wobbly, although these are the flaws of all similar glasses. I do not recommend taking it under any sauce, especially as a universal lens for every day. Full-frame analogue (In terms of) 28-105 F3.5-4.5 II USM, there is a much more worthy and versatile glass on the crop (True, of course, there will be no wide angle with it).
