Review on Stay Alert with First Alert Public Alert Radio featuring S.A.M.E (Discontinued by Manufacturer) by Daniel Jackson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Gives peace of mind, easy to use.

A few weeks ago I ordered a NOAA weather radio with SAME. A local TV meteorologist recommended buying a NOAA radio. The first alarm went off a few minutes ago. The radio tuning went quickly. I looked up the county codes and frequencies on the NOAA website before the radio arrived. Really easy and only took a few minutes. With this particular radio, I was able to turn off alerts for things I didn't want to bother, like: B. Flash floods. (Storm surge warnings are pretty common in my area this year, but not really a problem in my area.) It also has a battery backup, and you can put rechargeable batteries in it to keep it charged. Cozy. Recently there have been warnings for other counties but not for us. The radio did its job and didn't alert me to these warnings. A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for this and neighboring counties a few minutes ago. Apparently the radio immediately turned on the siren for 10 seconds and then started playing a radio alert. In addition, the LED will flash to indicate the severity (warning/observation/advice) and will continue to flash for the duration of the warning. A message describing the warning also scrolls on the screen. I noticed a message on TV after the radio warning. I wouldn't have noticed the TV alert as it was only enabled for background noise. I don't watch TV or only watch a lot during the day. I mostly use DVR or film feeds when watching. That's how I missed the local tornado alert last time. I knew nothing until the citywide horns went off. It was scary because I wasn't ready. So I'm very happy with my choice. Oh, also so that I can listen to the weather anytime by pressing the "Listen" button. This adjusts to the frequency of the NOAA weather channel and broadcasts current weather conditions and forecasts. I highly recommend this radio or any other radio. There is really a sense of security.
