Review on Scrubblade SB2600 Premium 26-Inch All-Season Windshield Wiper Blade - Single Pack by Tony York

So far so good for wipers and washers

I bought these blades for my new ram truck, it's winter and what's the best way to test these blades? Alaskan winters are tough for winter wipers, if they can handle the winter I usually run them in the summer. The night I installed these blades, it snowed for less than an hour. We had about 8 inches of wet heavy snow and these signs had no problem clearing the snow. After a few days it got very chilly with a temperature of -34° below 0 and stayed below 0 all month. Blades' work on the first day was decent. The rubber on the runners became very stiff and only cleared the way from the melted ice after I had ridden 50 minutes. About the same as Winter Blades. The melted ice froze back to the blades a little later than the Winter Blades, requiring a stop to chop off the ice. At these temperatures, if you make a mistake and use the glass cleaner at high speed, it will freeze faster than it took to print and your blades will become blocks of ice. I actually got caught in icy fog on the way home and once my diesel engine finally warmed up these blades worked great in the icy fog, remaining flexible enough to clear full trails off the windshield even when I turned the temp down to the point of on which the icy mist began to freeze to glass. I'm impressed that these blades continue to do what I've asked them to do, especially since they're not made for winter wipers. In my opinion these blades still work just as well as the special winter blades and only time will tell if they survive our long winters. I'm so impressed I'm buying a set of blades for my only '96 Impala SS summer car. Our summers are also tough with blades trying to clear a path of bugs and our state bird gnat off the windshield, which is why I ride winter blades year-round. You need a hard blade and lots of cleaning liquid to get rid of the bugs. If you haven't driven through the dense swarm of mosquitoes here, you won't be able to appreciate just how bad they are. Yes they are expensive, costing more than winter or summer blades, if they are durable enough to go year round it's worth it to me. If they survive the winter or fail before summer my rating will be updated. .
