Review on HyperX Cloud MIX - Wired Gaming Headset + Bluetooth, Game and Go, Detachable Microphone, Signature HyperX Comfort, Lightweight, Multi-platform Compatibility - Black by Patrick Matin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

One pair to rule them all.

These are my first set of wireless headphones and I bought them with some trepidation. The extra wire helped me secure. The claimed frequency response was the widest of any headset I looked at. I come off a pair of HyperX Cloud II's that lasted a full three years. I've only worn them for a few days but I think they're good quality. My previous experience with HyperX headphones has been good. $200 is pretty expensive, but I bought it to use for everything: gaming, music, listening to podcasts, making phone and video calls, and travelling. Pros: * Great sound * Feels good * Lightweight for the quality and features * Easy controls * Easy Bluetooth setup * Good wireless range * Good battery life * Built-in mic * Detachable boom mic * Detachable cable * Not compact, but it can disassemble for travel * Fits on everything * Comfortable to wear for hours * USB charging Cons: * Price of $200 * Doesn't turn off on bluetooth headphones C Sound quality is extremely important to me and the sound is excellent. Better than my previous HyperX Cloud II. Very significantly. good bass As advertised, the frequency response is very wide. Although they are more closed than I would like, I can absorb more nuances. Enclosure Sound also blocks outside noise, making it easier to hear while doing housework or in noisy environments. I find them a bit tight on my head but they are comfortable to wear all day long. They sit well on the head and neck. The feed is good. While they are by no means lightweight, they are lightweight in terms of quality and feature set. The extra wire is an attractive feature. Almost every headphone I've ever owned has failed at the headphone jack, and being able to swap out the cable should extend the life of the headphones. My gaming PC doesn't have Bluetooth, so I can use a wired connection and not have to worry about lag while gaming. It comes with a 3.5 inch headphone jack and a PC splitter. Bluetooth wireless was easy to set up on my Android phone and Macbook. The wireless freedom was excellent, I can turn on music or podcasts on my phone and forget about it. . No cables in the way. Good range means I can walk into adjacent rooms and continue listening. There are multiple controls on the headphones: volume, power, and an All button. Volume and All buttons. Decent texture and easy to find by touch. The power button is recessed to avoid accidental pressing, but easy to use when you want to do it. Previous or next track, answer or hang up calls and call the voice assistant. Only complaint is that there is no way to disconnect the device from the headphones, you have to do it from the device, this makes switching between Phone and computer a little easier. Charging is easy, Micro USB. USB-C w might be a nice feature, everything else I have goes to USB-C. Battery life has been excellent so far, I've been using it all day with no issues. While by no means compact, they can be disassembled for travel by removing the cable and boom mic. The built-in microphone works great when traveling. USB charging and long battery life mean no special cables are needed. It comes with a nice pouch to protect it. A very small LED indicates the status. Blue for normal. Red for charging. Flashes regularly. In normal lighting that's fine, but one night I woke up to find my bedroom insanely lit with blue flashes and I wondered if the police were outside. It was a status indicator. You might want to put tape on it.

Pros
  • Bluetooth wireless technology for communication on the go and intuitive controls on board
Cons
  • I'll write back later
